Master Oud player Ilias and qanon player Athina will be playing and singing songs from Turkey and Greece. We will be serving a 15 course menu featuring Rum Turkish cuisine prior to the concert.

About the event
Celebrating rich cuisine Rum Turks (Turkish of Greek descent) with Ilias Markantonis and Athina Kouki in concert. Dinner seating between 6pm-6:30pm, dinner starts at 6:30pm, concert starts at 8:30pm. Drinks will be served during the concert
Ilias Markantonis was born in Athens in 1993. He is studying and performing music and shadow puppet theater (Karagiozis) since his childhood. He graduated from Alimos Music High School (Athens, Greece) where he was taught Classical and Byzantine Music theory, piano, clarinet and tamboura(saz baglama). He is studied Ethnomusicology in Musicology Department of Athens Kapodestrian University. He is the official oud player of luthier Dimitris Rapakousios's workshop in Athens, making dozens of videos demonstrating ouds, lutes and other string instruments have been made or restored in the workshop.
Athina Kouki graduated from Pallini Music High School (Athens, Greece) where she studied Classical and Byzantine Music theory, piano, tamboura(saz baglama) and kanun. At the same time she studied at Conservatoire of Athens, department of traditional music where she took lessons from Christos Tsiamoulis theory of Anatolian music (Makam) and Rhythmology, Andreas Tsekouras traditional orchestra and Panos Dimitrakopoulos and Sofia Lambropoulou, virtuosity of kanun. She is studying Ethnomusicology in Musicology Department of National and Kapodistian University of Athens.
